1901 Petroleum was founded by three Texas natives Andrew Patrick Wendt, Jacob Henry Wendt, and Joe Bob Jones who share longstanding ties to Texas Tech University and a common belief in building businesses through integrity, discipline, and strong relationships.

The founders bring distinct but complementary experience to the company. Andrew is an entrepreneur and experienced business operator who leads capital formation, financing strategy, strategic relationships, and long-term growth. Jacob is an accomplished engineer and energy executive with extensive experience in drilling technology, technical development, and operational leadership. Joe Bob is a licensed professional petroleum engineer with deep experience across drilling, completions, production, reservoir engineering, and large-scale field operations.
