1901 Petroleum was founded by Andrew Patrick Wendt, Jacob Henry Wendt, and Joe Bob Jones, three partners whose backgrounds bring complementary strengths to the company. As President, Andrew leads capital formation, financing strategy, strategic relationships, and the company’s long-term vision. Chief Executive Officer Jacob Wendt brings extensive engineering and drilling-technology experience, providing executive leadership and guiding the company’s technical, development, and project-evaluation decisions. Chief Operating Officer Joe Bob Jones, a licensed professional petroleum engineer, leads field operations and project execution, drawing on deep experience in drilling, completions, production, and reservoir engineering. Together, the founders combine financial strategy, engineering discipline, and decades of oil and gas operating experience to identify, fund, and develop high-quality energy projects.

Jacob Henry Wendt
Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Jacob provides engineering-driven executive leadership and guides the company’s technical, development, and strategic decision-making. His background in drilling technology, engineering, and energy operations helps ensure each project is evaluated and developed with discipline.
Joe Bob Jones, P.E.
Co-Founder & Chief Operating Officer
Joe Bob oversees operations, field execution, and project development. With extensive experience in drilling, completions, production, and reservoir engineering, he helps translate the company’s strategy into safe, efficient, and well-managed operations.
